Hello! My name is Hannah Starbuck and I am a seventh year math teacher. I began my teaching career in 2014 very shortly after I graduated college with my Bachelors in Mathematics. I began teaching at a public, project-based learning charter school in the San Juan mountains of Durango, Colorado. I learned how to create and develop interesting and applicable projects, both cross-curricular and subject specific, for students and immediately saw the positive impacts of inquiry-based learning. After four wonderful years of teaching, I decided to take a big risk and move to the Alps of Switzerland, where I have been teaching at a private international boarding school for the last three years. I have been teaching the International Baccalaureate curriculum for the last two years and have seen the classical approaches of higher level mathematics and and have also seen how powerful mathematics is when applied to our daily lives and world. I absolutely love being a teacher, and really enjoy being around teenagers and helping them grow as students and young people.
